Petit Pierre

Every morning during our calendar routine, we dress Petit Pierre. We sing a little song and the star of the day gets to choose three things to dress him in according to the weather outside. Ask your child to teach you the song. It is a class favorite!

Writing with Pastels and Paint

The students had fun practicing their letter formation and sight words using all sorts of writing tools. Some chose paint or pastels, while others choose modelling clay. They were all so proud of the letters and words they knew!

Winter Tree Landscape

Today, we talked about the winter season. We discussed hibernation, what we see during winter, and what happens to the trees. We looked at pictures in a book to give us clues. Afterwards, we painted a winter tree landscape. We mixed shaving cream and glue to make the snow!

Marble Jar

The kids filled up the marble jar for good behavior! Please check your child's folder for a note that went home. They can bring a toy from home on Thursday January 21 to play with during centres time. Bravo Division 9!

Second Step

Meet Puppy and Snail. They visit our class when we do our Second Step lessons. Puppy is hyper, talkative, and sometimes anxious. Snail helps him calm down strong feelings and re-focus his attention. Today, Puppy and the students learned how to focus and use self-talk to follow directions. To practice, we did a directed drawing lesson where the students drew owls while focusing on the directions I was giving them. They all turned out a little different but very cute!
