Activity Bags

In this weeks activity bag you will find some flash cards, a booklet, and a printing practice worksheet. For the printing practice worksheet, do one line on the page every couple of nights if you can. It will be too much to do all in one sitting. When printing, focus on starting the letter from the top and working downwards, and staying between the lines.

Solving Problems

We have been learning about fair ways to play and how to peacefully solve problems. This is one strategy I teach from the WITS program. Ask your child to explain it to you. Below is a picture of the English and French posters. You can use this language at home too!

New Song

We are learning a new Charlotte Diamond song. It is called 'Je suis une pizza'.  Below is the link to the video. Ask your child to teach it to you and to show you the actions.

Ways to make 5

The students are learning different ways to make 5. In this activity, the students used two-sided buttons. They would shake them in their hands, let them fall, and see what combination they would get. They would then count the totals and discovered that it would always equal 5.

The Kindergarteners take over the school!

We have been doing a lot of activities around the Elephant and Piggie books. This morning, the whole school was on a field trip except for the two kindergarten classes. So we took over the school!

We put music over the PA system and played freeze dance in the hallway.

We hid Elephant and Piggie sight words all over the school and had the students go on a treasure hunt to find them.

And we ate strawberry ice cream with chocolate chips (meant to look like a pig's nose).

It was so much fun!

J'aime les animaux

In this weeks activity bags, you will find some new flash cards and a new booklet to read. The students may not know all the words and that's ok.

If they cannot read all the words, have them point to the work 'J'aime' on each page. Ask them to count the words on each page.

If they can read the words, have them point to them as they read.
