Holiday Fun
Wow...what a fun day we had! We had two parties today. Before lunch, we celebrated Lunar New Year. Some students handed out lucky red envelopes to the class and shared some of the traditions with us. After lunch, we celebrated Valentine's Day. The students had fun passing around the cards they made for their friends. There was a lot of thought put into them. By 3:00, the students were full of love...and sugar! I bet some of them will crash before bedtime :)

Hearts
We had fun painting these hearts. Here is the finished product. I put them up on the bulletin board outside our class to show off the kids work!
La lettre D
This, week, we are learning all about the letter d. It is common for kids to reverse 'd' and 'b' when writing. Practice at home once or twice a week and make it fun. Play a letter guessing game or write using paint or playdough.

Foot Measurement
On Friday, we measured our feet using blocks. We traced our foot (the students had fun doing that!), cut it out, then measured with counting blocks. When the students were done, they measured things around the classroom.

J'aime ...
We are working on using the word j'aime (I like) in a sentence. After practicing saying it out loud, the students wrote about what they liked. They copied the word from the board and then tried to sound out the rest all by themselves!
J'aime ma grand-mere.
J'aime le soleil.
J'aime le pizza.
J'aime les transformers.
