Snow Day

The Canadian groundhogs were right, six more weeks of winter it is. Mme Louise and I were so disappointed we had to cancel the field trip. For those of you that I haven't had a chance to talk to, here is what happened..

It took the bus 45 minutes to get to our school from the Victoria and Broadway area. It didn't arrive until 9:40 and after speaking with the bus driver and getting updates about the road conditions, we decided it wasn't worth the risk on the roads. Also, we would have been over an hour late and would have missed part of the workshop and all of the IMAX film. And who knows what the trip back would have been like.

The students took the news well and we had a fun day in class. Instead of going to the space museum, we traveled to space in our imaginations! We read a book about Arthur. Arthur thought he was so big...until he saw an elephant...he thought the elephant was so big until he saw some mountains....he thought the mountains were so big until he saw planet earth...he thought planet earth was so big...until he saw outer space! When you come on Monday, look closely at the astronauts :)
