Au Revoir Papillon!

This afternoon, we released our butterflies. They were the first batch to hatch and we didn't want to leave them cooped up in the class over the long weekend. We sat quietly on the grass outside and watched them fly away. Some of them were slow to take off so the students held them gently until they were ready. Every time one flew off, the students would wave goodbye with the paper butterflies they made this morning. It was so sweet. We also painted butterflies to put in our window to remind us of them :)
