Our first chick hatched this morning! The students were over the moon when they came into the class. We brainstormed ideas for names, took a vote, and the students chose to name him Cookie. So cute. We drew pictures of Cookie and they wrote a simple sentence. Here are some pictures. They are not very good ones because it's hard to get a good picture of a chicken! After school, another egg hatched so when the kids come tomorrow, Cookie will have a sister or brother :)
Cookie - his feathers are still wet from being in the egg. As he was drying, we noticed his feathers were white on his belly, which reminded the kids of a cookie!
