Eggs

Our eggs have arrived! We will incubate them over the next 21 days until they hatch. We have 12 eggs, but won't know which ones are fertilized until day 21. We could have 2 chicks, or we could have 12. It is always exciting to find out.

Inside the incubator is a thermometer. It needs to stay very warm, 99 degrees fahrenheit, to mimic the warmth of their mother. Tomorrow, the students will start monitoring the temperature and help to keep it stabilized.

The eggs come in a variety of colors. The chicks can be yellow, brown or even black. The color of the egg does not indicate which color. It will be another fun surprise.

This was an online program only offered in English. I translate it in French as I am teaching.
