How do plants drink water?

Today, we talked about how plants use the roots and stem to 'drink' water. To illustrate how this happens, we are doing a little experiment. Each student got a cup of water and a white flower. Then they chose some food coloring to put in the water. Over the next few days, we are going to observe what happens to the white flower when it drinks the colored water. It sure makes for a colorful class!
